Lochlan
is a tremendous athlete with a very soft,
sweet personality. He has beautiful physical structure
with a very powerful rear quarter which enables him to fly through a course.
However, Lochlan
can be hard to manage at times due to his huge stride and his need to do
everything with exuberance.
Lochlan
is the type of dog that was born to run. As a puppy he spent
endless hours at a Hudson River park running up and down the beach and
playing in the water.
Tiring him out was difficult,
but after a few hours of swimming and running he would finally take a
break. Playing on the beach with his best friend Nadja and Melba
left them exhausted, wet, full of sand and happy as clams.
At home, Lochlan flies
out the back door with tremendous speed as the rest of the pack
chases him down to the agility fields. As he circles around the
property with the rest of the dogs hot on his heels, he always manages
to stay a few strides ahead of everyone.
Lochlan has many favorite
games and would probably choose play over agility. His favorite
game is playing football or basketball with his Dad and in the summer,
swimming in the pool pushing a big plastic egg around.
Due to the nature of the egg game, careful attention has to be paid to
Lochlan and the other dogs because they could literally due this to pure
exhaustion.

As far as his agility career, Lochlan didn't mature until he was
almost 4 years old, however, he now seems to really understand his job
and works very hard.
Kris competes about 6 months out of the year, taking summer's and
winter's off to give her dogs adequate time to be dogs and to relax and
play since agility requires so much mental and physical training.
Lochlan keeps the
group fit by having them chase him as he circles the property. The game of "Chase Lochlan" never grows old and
is played many times throughout each day.
Lochlan's
biggest accomplishments are: 2005 World Cynosport Games, November
2005 - Phoenix, AZ having 3 top ten placements. 4th in Master Team
Gamblers, 5th Grand Prix Quarter Finals and 9th in Master Team standard
22" Division.
In the 2006 World Games
he placed 7th in the Grand Prix Semi-Finals and became a
World Champion Grand Prix Finalist.
Lochlan has also
earned his
USDAA Master Gamblers
Championship Bronze, USDAA Master Pair Relay Championship, his USDAA MAD (Master
Agility Dog Title) Master Snooker Champianship, and Master Standard Title. He is
also a Tournament Master Silver level in USDAA competition in only 2 .5 years
of competing in USDAA competitions.
Lochlan has won 6 local Grand Prix events earning byes into the Northeast
Regional and Midwest Regional Events in 2006 and 2007. He is also 2006 North East
Regional Grand Prix
Finalist earning a bye into the Semi-Finals at the 2006 World Cynosport
Games and he was a 2006 Northeast Regional Steeplechase Finalist.
He's also won several local Steeplechase events in 2006.
